I'm a trial lawyer. period.

So if you believe in me.

And I believe in you.

Then I believe we can win.

THANK YOU FOR REACHING OUT TO US.

Hi, I’m Terrence, and I’m here to help in whatever way I can.

I am an experienced trial lawyer, former federal prosecutor, and former civil litigator on behalf of the United States government.  I am now the principal attorney at JONES LAW, the Law Office of Terrence Jones, and specialize in trial work, high-stakes civil litigation, and criminal defense.  I have a keen interest in workplace discrimination and wrongful termination, civil rights and government wrongdoing, personal injury, and providing criminal defense to those who have been wrongfully accused.  I graduated from Yale University, attended Loyola Law School, and am licensed to practice law in both California and New York.

"Unlike a lot of attorneys, I didn’t start my legal career at a big law firm,

making big money, representing big business."

Unlike a lot of attorneys, I didn’t start my legal career at a big law firm, making big money, representing big business.  I started out representing the American people as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice.  Appointed by the U.S. Attorney General, I began my career as a sworn Assistant U.S. Attorney and federal prosecutor at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles, the most populace federal district in the country (the Central District of California).  During my tenure at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, I had the unique privilege of serving in both the office’s Criminal Division, which is responsible for federal prosecutions, as well as its Civil Division, which is responsible for representing federal agencies and government officials in affirmative and defensive lawsuits.  As a result, I have both prosecuted criminal matters and litigated civil suits on behalf of the federal government at the highest levels of our judicial system.

"This range of experience is emblematic of a skill that I sharpened

at the U.S. Attorney’s Office:  the ability to confront a new practice area presented by a new case, master it, and then take it to trial and win."

Given the breadth of my legal experience, in both government and private practice, I excel in several different practice areas and counsel clients on a variety of issues.  I have litigated labor and employment matters, trade secret theft, contract disputes, environmental cases, fraud claims, and more.  I have conducted internal investigations, counseled companies on regulatory compliance, and defended individuals criminally charged with misusing Unmanned Aircraft Systems (i.e., drones).  This range of experience is emblematic of a skill that I sharpened at the U.S. Attorney’s Office:  the ability to confront a new practice area presented by a new case, master it, and then take it to trial and win.
